DURBAN, South Africa (Aug. 10)—Dunlop Africa Ltd.´s Dunlop Tyres Pty. Ltd. unit will expand capacity at its Ladysmith, South Africa, plant 55 percent in the coming two to three years to meet increasing export demands from customers in Europe and Latin America. The move—to 70,000 units a week—follows increased interest from European dealers in the company´s Regal brand, according to Carlo Baldocchi, Dunlop Africa´s export director, as well as interest from Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe B.V for various brands for distribution into Europe. The company also is stepping up production of off-the-road and earthmover tires in response to increased demand from Europe and North America.
