WASHINGTON (Aug. 8)—Law firms in Washington, D.C. and Fort Myers, Fla., have filed a class-action lawsuit against Bridgestone/Firestone Inc., Ford Motor Co. and other car makers asking undisclosed damages and injunctive relief on behalf of consumers who have purchased vehicles equipped with Firestone ATX, ATX II or Wilderness tires. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating tread separations in the tires. Cohen Milstein Hausfeld and Toll P.L.C. of Washington and Viles Law Firm of Fort Myers filed their suit in the Circuit Court of the 20th Judicial Circuit in Lee County, Fla. Bridgestone/Firestone has not commented on the suit.
