LONDON (Aug. 7)—Laird Group P.L.C. is acquiring Instrument Specialties Co. Inc. of Delaware Water Gap, Pa., a supplier of electromagnetic interference shielding products to the electronic and telecommunications industries. The combination of Instrument Specialties and Laird´s existing EMI business, APM Inc., will create a global supplier of shielding products to the rapidly growing worldwide electronics industries, Laird said. Laird will pay $257 million in cash and will assume Instrument Specialties´ debt at closing up to $46.5 million.
