WASHINGTON (Aug. 4)—The Rubber Manufacturers Association said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has concluded the tire industry is not a source of hexachlorobenzene emissions. The federal agency removed tire manufacturing from the list of sources of HCB emissions. The RMA said the decision is the result of two years of industry data collection and coordination with the EPA.
