LONDON (Aug. 3)—TI Group P.L.C.´s specialty polymers products business reported a 73-percent jump in operating earnings and a 66-percent rise in sales for the six months ended June 30, 2000, over the corresponding period a year ago. The increases reflect to a large degree the first time inclusion of results from Busak+Shamban, which was acquired in September 1999. The business unit—consisting largely of the former Forsheda Group and the Busak+Shamban activities—reported earnings of $19.9 million on sales of $202.4 million. The unit recently was awarded an exclusive contract worth $18.9 million to supply the European Eurofighter consortium with canopy and windshield seals for the new aircraft.
