NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 28)—Bridgestone Corp. has joined with two other Japanese companies in a joint research project to move toward module and system integration of automobile suspensions. The company will work with Akebono Brake Industry Co. Ltd., which makes brake systems, and Kayaba Industry Co. Ltd., a producer of shock absorbers, to reduce weight, noise and vibration and improve vehicle stability and response while braking, said Bridgestone/Firestone Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Bridgestone Corp.
