LANCASTER, Pa. (July 27)—Fred Tornau, an Armstrong World Industries Inc. executive and former manufacturing director and plant manager at tire and rubber goods maker Continental A.G., and his wife, Christine, were among the 109 passengers and crew killed when an Air France Concorde crashed in Paris July 25. Armstrong said Tornau was director of manufacturing for the DLW European manufacturing organization, responsible for production and logistics. He joined DLW, which Armstrong acquired a few years ago, in 1990 as a plant manager in Delmenhorst, Germany, after working for Continental.
