DETROIT (July 27)—General Motors Corp. said it will offer minority suppliers financial and technical assistance to "close the technology gap" and successfully participate in the auto maker´s on-line marketplace, GM TradeXchange. Minority vendors will be assisted in connecting to the Internet and GM´s exchange. Commerce One, the Empowerment Foundation and Direct Sourcing Solutions Inc. will assist GM in securing the necessary computer hardware and software, connectivity support, catalog creation and training for participating suppliers.
