CLEVELAND (July 21)—The proposed merger of M.A. Hanna Co. and Geon Co. have cleared the government antitrust review period with no action or inquiry, the companies said. The deal has yet to gain shareholder approval, but is expected to close in the third quarter 2000. The new corporation—to be called PolyOne Corp.—would be the world´s largest polymer services company with annual sales of $3.5 billion, more than 10,000 employees and 80 manufacturing sites.
