MARIETTA, Ga. (July 20)—Columbian Chemicals Co. plans to increase carbon black prices in Europe, following a similar move by Degussa-Huls A.G. Columbian said the price of all its rubber grade blacks shipped to European customers will rise 50 Euro per metric ton as of Sept. 1. The firm blamed high oil feedstock prices and the low valuation of the Euro for the increase. Degussa-Huls recently announced the same price increase, effective the same date for black sold in Europe.
