TROY, Mich. (July 12)—Delphi Automotive Systems´ newly-formed Aftermarket Operations division is broading its foray into the Mexican aftermarket through new ownership of one distributor and partnerships with two others in the country. Delphi acquired Delphi Diesel Systems Service in Mexica S.A. de C.V. when it bought Lucas Diesel Systems from TRW Inc. The company operates five branches in Mexico, supplying diesel fuel pumps, injectors and filters under the Lucas brand for now, but it will begin marketing them under the Delphi name by the end of the year. Under new parternship agreements, Comercializdaora Moresa S.A. de C.V. and Lectropar S.A. de C.V. will be master distributors for all of Delphi´s aftermarket products in Mexico. Eventually, Delphi said it will produce a wider variety of products for the replacement market in Mexico, falling under five key categories: under the car (shocks/struts), thermal systems, energy/engine management systems (to include fluid handling) electronics and re-manufactured products.
