HADERA, Israel (July 11)—Alliance Tire Co. has shut down its Petach-Tikva, Israel, tire factory, near Tel Aviv, and moved production to its main facility about 30 miles north at Hadera. The 48-year-old Petach-Tikva plant produced 10,000 metric tons per year of agricultural, earthmover/OTR and industrial tires per year. The transfer is part of a $75 million expansion to boost capacity to 57,000 tons annually. The project, announced in 1997, should be completed by the end of the year, said Alliance President Yinon Esroni, who plans to retire at that time.
