NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 6)—Kenji Shibata, president of Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. since 1993, retired on June 30. The 61-year-old, 39-year veteran of Bridgestone Corp. and its U.S. subsidiary also served as a director of the parent company. Masatoshi Ono, Bridgestone/Firestone chairman and CEO, has assumed the corporate duties of president until further notice, the company said.
