GADSDEN, Ala. (June 27)—An 800-tire-per-day production reduction at Goodyear´s Gadsden radial tire plant that would have resulted in 125 layoffs in June won´t take place until July, according to a June 21 "Associated Press" report. The cutback, which the company said was necessary to maintain inventory balance, was announced June 5. The Gadsden plant makes about 17,600 tires per day and employs about 1,325 people.
