TORONTO (June 26)—Goodyear´s North Bay, Ontario, retread plant has become North America´s first off-the-road facility to earn ISO-9002 registration, the tire maker said. The retreader of giant mining, forestry and heavy manufacturing tires serves customer across eastern Canada. The site, Canada´s largest OTR retread operation, earned the award after a year-long compliance effort by its 37 associates, Goodyear said. "We´ve always had good quality, but ISO certification allows us to precisely measure and control our processes and provides hard evidence of first-rate products and service," Glenn Bennett, the plant´s Business Centre Manager, said.
