SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 23)—GenCorp Inc. reported second-quarter earnings of $18.9 million compared to income of $14.6 million during the same period of fiscal 1999. Aerojet´s revenues decreased, primarily due to the completion of a large contract, while the Vehicle Sealing unit´s sales hedged up 5 percent over 1999 to $128.8 million. GenCorp said it expects Vehicle Sealing operating margins to continue to improve throughout the remainder of this year as model run rates are achieved and vehicle platforms transfer from launch support into full production.
