WASHINGTON (June 22)—The Health Industry Manufacturers Association, whose members include manufacturers of medical devices, has changed its name to the Advanced Medical Technology Association, or AdvaMed. The group said the new name more accurately reflects its "dvocacy role in ensuring patient access to innovative medical technologies worldwide." AdvaMed has more than 800 members who develop and produce medical devices, diagnostic products and medical information systems.
