SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (June 16)—Automotive supplier Lear Corp. is selling its sealants and foam rubber business to a subsidiary of GSC Industries Inc. for $92.5 million. The sale includes two manufacturing plants in Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo., a sales and engineering office in Troy, Mich., and about 600 employees. The plants manufacture foam rubber vibration damping materials and body sealing materials and produce about $100 million in annual sales, according to Lear. GSC is an Indianapolis minority supplier of automotive precision steel components with 1999 sales of $25 million.
