(June 13)—Pilot Chemical will raise the prices of surfactants effective July 1. Slated increases include: Calfoam and Calimulse alcohol sulfates by 1.5 cents per pound; 25- to 30-percent active Calfoam and Calimulse alcohol ether sulfates by 1.5 cents per pound, 60-percent actives by 2.5 cents per pound, 70-percent actives by 3 cents per pound; Calsoft alpha olefin sulfonates by 1.5 cents per pound; Pilot sodium xylene sulfonates by 1 cent per pound; and Calblend blends and concentrates by 1 cent per pound. The hikes are a reaction to tightening feedstock and market conditions, Pilot said.
