BELLEVILLE, N.J. (June 13)—Elementis Performance Polymers has announced it will raise the prices of its Kelar and Kalene product lines effective July 1. Kalar partially cross-linked rubber compounds will increase 6 percent, the company said, while Kalene low-molecular-weight liquid polymers will increase 4 percent. The adjustments mark the first price increases for the two lines in more than five years, said Elementis, a maker of specialty polymers for industries including electrical, automotive, industrial adhesives and sports equipment. The firm cited swelling butyl rubber, energy and labor costs as causes of the increases.
