FORD HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 12)—Waste Recovery Inc. has sold its two tire-derived-fuel processing facilities in Illinois to Ford Heights-based New Heights Recovery & Power LLC, a subsidiary of KTI Inc. of New Jersey. According to a Waste Recovery release, New Heights will assume the $6.135 million worth of industrial bonds issued to finance the plants in Marseilles and Dupo, Ill., and also make "certain other considerations" of $1.3 million at closing. Also according to Waste Recovery, Thomas L. Earnshaw has resigned as president, CEO and board member, and the board of directors said it would not replace Earnshaw "in the foreseeable future" in light of the Illinois sales. Neither Earnshaw—who still maintains an office in Waste Recovery´s Dallas headquarters—nor officials of New Heights could be reached for comment.
