HOUSTON, Texas (June 7)—H. Heller & Co. has purchased the assets of American Thermoplastics Co., a plastics compounding operation, from Phillips Chemical Co. to broaden its reach within the thermoplastics and rubber compound industries. The company said ATC will still produce compounded polyethylene products for the solid wall pipe, geomembrane and crosslink markets for the Phillips Petroleum Co. division through a tolling arrangement. The fourth compounding operation to join Heller, ATC will help the company with in-house mixing as well as tolling for other companies, a Heller spokesman said.
