NEW YORK (June 7)—Applied Tech Products is in discussions to acquire at least two rubber companies, a combination rubber and plastic manufacturer, and a plastic business in an attempt to further expand its growing network, according to Raymond B. Langton, CEO and co-founder. The Radnor, Pa.-based corporation has purchased nine rubber and plastic firms in the past 30 months, building an operation with combined annual sales of about $200 million. Langton expects his company to buy at least one of the rubber companies within the next year, complete a deal for the rubber and plastics goods producer within the next month and acquire the plastic operation within the next two weeks. He declined to name the acquisition candidates during an interview while attending the Medical Design & Manufacturing East Exposition, held June 5-7 in New York.
