WASHINGTON (June 6)—The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration included two rubber-related safety recalls on its latest recall list. Continental General Tire Inc. is recalling 3,109 Continental P185/70R14 tires because a non-specified rubber compound was used in the belt area. Also, Hyundai Motor America has recalled 16,264 2000 Hyundai Accents because the protective rubber boot which covers the ball joint connection between the windshield wiper motor drive arm and the windshield wiper drag link can stick to the surface of the drive arm, making the wipers inoperative.
