PHOENIX (June 6)—PolyTek Rubber & Recycling Inc. has purchased NRI Industries Inc.´s crumb rubber processing facilities in Flat Rock, Mich., and Chambersburg, Pa., for an undisclosed amount. The purchases make PolyTek, a 4-year-old, Phoenix-based firm, the largest crumb rubber producer in the world, with capacity of more than 150 million pounds annually, according to Clay Richards, PolyTek vice president of marketing. The company will add employees at both facilities and possibly transfer personnel from one plant to the other, Richards said without giving details. PolyTek´s other crumb rubber plants are in Queen Creek, Ariz.; Bristow, Okla.; and Johnson City, Tenn.
