CINCINNATI (June 5)—Eagle-Picher Industries Inc. has sold its Rubber Molded Products business unit to Longwood Industries Inc. of Florham Park, N.J., for $33 million. The deal is part of Eagle-Picher´s previously announced plan to divest certain smaller business units in order to focus on core divisions, according to the diversified industrial products manufacturing company. The rubber molded products business operates plants in Norwich and Stratford, Conn.; Pine Bluff, Ark.; and Soria, Spain, supplying seals, gaskets, O-rings and other elastomeric components for noise and vibration damping, leak prevention and other sealing applications. Longwood Industries reports an estimated $70 million in annual rubber-related sales; its Longwood Elastomers Inc. subsidiary operates four plants in the U.S.
