SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (May 19)—Trelleborg Automotive will consolidate operations from the former BTR AVS technical center in Wabash, Ind., and corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne, Ind., into its South Haven, Mich., technical center by November. The Swedish automotive supplier also will integrate both Detroit-area sales offices into a new, larger site. BTR plants in Peru and Loganport, Ind., will remain operational, but Trelleborg will eliminate duplicate administrative and engineering personnel, said President George Caplea without giving exact numbers. ``In Europe, it´s going to take a little bit longer, because it does take some centralization of some tasks and functions and also some plant closures,´´ he said.
