(May 17)—Wardwell Braiding Machine Co. is expanding its U.S. headquarters and its Schnellflechter Berlin GmbH German subsidiary plant in response to rising global braided cable demand. In addition to increased capacity at Wardwell´s Central Falls, R.I., facility—for which details were not given—the company has added personnel and production of its Speedmaster 2000 braiders at the Schnellflechter Berlin site, boosting capacity there by 50 percent. Expansion at the two locations is part of a long-term strategy to integrate manufacturing in North America and Germany, Wardwell said, and will enable better product pricing, faster delivery and easier customer service access.
