AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (May 15)—Continental Teves North America will supply the complete braking systems for the 2001 Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute sport-utility vehicles. Continental did not disclose the contracts´s worth, but said it represents its largest systems contract for a production vehicle to date. Continental Teves, a unit of Continental A.G., will supply the vehicles´ complete foundation brakes, actuation, suspension/wheel components and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. It also will assemble both front and rear brake corner modules for the SUVs.
