FINDLAY, Ohio (May 2)—Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is closely counting shareholder votes for and against a proposal to drop its "poison pill" or shareholder rights plan. Voting was too close to gauge final numbers at the tire maker´s annual meeting today, a company spokeswoman said, but Cooper will release results within 48 hours.
