MIDLAND, Mich. (May 2)—Dow Chemical Co. has competed its acquisition of General Latex & Chemical Corp., further expanding its global polyurethanes business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cambridge, Mass.-based General Latex is a large North American polyurethane systems supplier and a leading maker of custom compounds from natural and synthetic rubber. The purchase is the company´s second in 2000. It bought polyurethane systems supplier Marietta, Ga.-based Flexible Products Co. in January.
