LAKE FOREST, Ill. (April 25)—Tenneco Automotive said it earned net income of $1 million on sales of $882 million for the first quarter ended March 31. Sales represented a 12-percent increase over year-ago figures for the same period, while the company took a loss of $291 million during the first quarter of 1999 prior to its split from the packaging business in November.
