SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (April 21)—Federal-Mogul doesn´t have any further plans to sell off its Anco wiper products unit, said Chairman and CEO Richard Snell in a first-quarter earnings conference call April 20. The sealing supplier hasn´t abandoned plans to acquire a Sabo Industria e Comercio Ltda and its German subsidiary, but has put them on the back burner, he said. Separately, Snell welcomed Federal-Mogul veteran Alan Johnson back to the company as executive vice president of the America and Asia. After 30 years with the supplier, Johnson had left in 1999 to become president and chief operating officer of Exide Corp., the world´s leading producer of lead acid batteries.
