Collins & Aikman appoints head of N.A. interior systems

TROY, Mich. (April 19)—Collins & Aikman Corp. has appointed Frank Preston president of the company´s North American Automotive Interior Systems division. Preston will oversee the supplier´s U.S. and Canadian operations in floor and acoustic systems, floor mats, door panels, instrument panels, consoles and interior trim systems. Preston joins Collins & Aikman most recently from Intelligents Consulting, an automotive practice he established in 1998. Prior to that he held a number of senior management positions with Lear Corp., including group vice president of the interior systems division.
