DETROIT (March 8)—Automotive foam parts supplier Jacobs & Thompson Inc. plans to double its business over the next five years through acquisition and internal growth. The Weston, Ontario-based company began to fulfill its goal over the past year by buying its top Canadian competitor and putting $1.05 million back into the firm via capital expenditures and improvements. Jacobs & Thompson last September purchased Procan Manufacturing Inc., a Toronto-based foam supplier, Ken Eaton, company vice president and general manager, said at the Society of Automotive Engineers conference and exposition.
