CINCINNATI (March 2)—Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd. has acquired the Fluid Systems business unit of Eagle-Picher Industries Inc. for $20 million. The unit produces thermoplastic and TPE tubing assemblies for automotive fuel, emission, brake, clutch and suspension systems at plants in Market Harborough, England, and Brighton, Michigan. Eagle-Picher´s divestiture of the unit is in keeping with previously announced plans to streamline non-core divisions. The businesses, which will become wholly-owned subsidiaries of Toyoda Gosei, expand the Japanese supplier´s customer and sales base and broaden its product portfolio.
