CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 2)—Continental General Tire Inc. will raise prices 3 percent on all Continental, General and private brand passenger and light truck tires for the U.S. replacement market, effective April 1. Conti blamed the increase on the rising cost of raw materials, including process oil, synthetic rubber, carbon black, chemicals and reinforcements.
