RED BANK, N.J. (Feb. 25)—Pilot Chemical Co. will raise surfactant prices April 1. Rates for Calsoft LAS-99, linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid and Calsoft F-90 flake will increase 1.5 cents per pound. Calsoft sulfonates, including L-40, L-50 and L-60, will see a 0.75 cent per pound price hike. Derivatives of branched alkyl benzene and low 2-phenyl linear alkyl benzene will not increase. The higher rates are the result of increased costs Pilot is paying for high 2-phenyl linear alkyl benzene.
