MARIETTA, Ga. (Feb. 10)—Columbian Chemicals Co. has tacked surcharges on its carbon black, blaming rising feedstock costs. The company said it added a temporary 1 cent per pound surcharge on net prices of all rubber and industrial carbon blacks net prices sold in North America, effective Feb. 7. In Europe, the firm is adding a 22 Euro per metric ton charge, in addition to a 25 Euro per ton increase that takes effect Feb. 10. The company said "we regret this price adjustment, and continues to monitor the situation.
