WASHINGTON (Feb. 3)—The House of Representatives has passed a limited product liability reform bill by a 222-194 vote. The bill establishes an 18-year statute of repose for durable goods used in the workplace, meaning injured parties can´t sue if the product is more than 18 years old. The National Association of Manufacturers has designated the bill a "key manufacturing vote" in the 106th Congress. There is as yet no companion bill in the Senate.
