TRENTON, N.J. (Jan. 17)—Bayer Corp. subsidiary Rhein Chemie Corp. will spend $2.5 million to upgrade its Trenton headquarters and two former Elastochem Inc. plants in Chardon, Ohio. Rhein Chemie completed the acquisition of Elastochem, a multiple-ingredient dispersion developer for the polymer industry, on Oct. 31, 1999. Rhein Chemie makes predispersed rubber chemicals, processing promoters, release agents, specialty polymers and compound waxes for the rubber industry.
