PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (Jan. 11)—Michelin North America Inc.´s passenger and light truck tire sales and market share, spurred by an aggressive multibrand sales program, will increase in 2000 following a record 1999. While final figures aren´t in for the year, Michelin officials project tire sales rose about 11 percent in 1999 and the firm reached its market share goal for the year, putting it at about 22 percent of the North American market, compared with 20 percent in 1998, The company anticipates similiar or greater growth in 2000.
