AKRON—Gunter Hilken has been named president of Bayer Corp.´s Fibers, Additives and Rubber Division, based in Akron.
Hilken succeeds Richard White, who retired after 32 years with the company.
Hilken joined Bayer in 1984 in its Rubber Division in Dormagen, Germany. He has held a variety of positions, working in research and development and process development before joining Bayer Inc.´s Sarnia, Ontario, operation as director of nitrile rubber.
In 1997 Hilken was named senior vice president and site general manager in Sarnia.
