WEINHEIM, Germany-Freudenberg Group's sales increased 5 percent in 1994 to $3.27 billion, Board Chairman Reinhart Freudenberg told employees at an annual meeting.
Freudenberg's holdings include more than 90 production and sales companies in 28 countries, including the Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership joint venture in North America. Employment at year's end stood at 25,500.
Business outside of Germany recorded larger gains than the firm's core company, Carl Freudenberg K.G., which reported a 2.8-percent rise in sales to $1.1 billion.
The firm did not announce its earnings, choosing to disclose full financial results in May.
In 1993 the manufacturer posted profits of $36.1 million, or 1.3 percent of sales.
