TRELLEBORG, Sweden-Trelleborg Industri A.B.'s industrial rubber division has agreed with Dayco Europe to distribute Dayco's industrial belts in the Nordic countries. Trelleborg phased out its production capacity for industrial belts in the early 1980s and has been selling belts imported from Southeast Asia in the interim.
Trelleborg's sales of these products in Denmark, Norway and Finland are $4 million, a volume it expects to increase ``considerably'' through this agreement.
Dayco, a subsidiary of Mark IV Industries Inc., has manufacturing capacity for industrial belts in Italy, Belgium and Spain, but has lacked an effective marketing channel throughout the Nordic region, Trelleborg said.
Lars Svensson is responsible for transmission products within Trelleborg Industri.
Separately, the company named Thomas Parchmann managing director of Trelleborg GmbH in Germany. He succeeds Christer Nordstrom, who returns to Sweden to resume work in the business development department.
