FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Trelleborg Group's Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business unit has finalized its acquisition of polymer seal distributor CRC Distribution, the latest in a decade-spanning line of moves to strengthen Trelleborg's presence in the U.S.
Financial terms of the deal, first announced in October, were not disclosed.
Trelleborg officials cited CRC's customer base throughout North America as a primary reason for the acquisition. Heather Castleman, business unit president industrial Americas, said that the deal will bring the best of both companies under one roof.
"CRC serves small hydraulic cylinder original equipment manufacturers and maintenance repair operations," Castleman said. "Historically, we've used distributors to address these market needs. Now we can directly serve these hydraulic cylinder OEM and MRO customers ourselves.
"CRC has a reputation for delivering exceptional customer experiences and customers should expect this level of service to continue while benefiting from additional Trelleborg products."
Robertsdale, Ala.-based CRC has been a distributor of Trelleborg seal products in the southern U.S. since 2021, company officials said. Following Trelleborg's acquisitions of VB Seal, Carolina Seal and Anderson Seal in recent years, the Swedish company is looking further south in expanding its American portfolio.
"CRC has been successful for almost 30 years because of the dedication of our incredible employees, trust from loyal customers and partnerships from valued suppliers," CRC Distribution CEO Stephen Walker said. "I am confident that Trelleborg is the right company to continue this foundation of excellence for CRC, and I'm excited about the new opportunities this acquisition will create for us all."
