DORDRECHT, Netherlands—Trelleborg Group has acquired Dutch manufacturer Mampaey Offshore Industries through its Trelleborg Industrial Solutions business unit.
Financial details of the purchase, finalized Dec. 11, were not disclosed.
Founded in Dordrecht, Netherlands in 1904 as Mampaey Machine Factory, Mampaey posted corporate sales around $16 million in 2023, according to a statement from Trelleborg. The company produces integrated berthing and mooring systems, as well as marine towing solutions and ship-to-shore safety links for the transfer of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
"The acquisition of Mampaey strengthens our global leading positions in the growing marine and LNG industries and will allow us to offer our customers a comprehensive range of safety-critical solutions," said Jean-Paul Mindermann, business area president of Trelleborg Industrial Solutions.
Mindermann added that the deal will add to the business unit's growing marine portfolio, making it "efficient, safer, and increasingly sustainable." Trelleborg's sustainability goals, set in 2022, call for the company to cut carbon dioxide emissions in half by 2025, and the company is aiming for total carbon neutrality by 2035.
