WAYNE, Pa.—Tekni-Plex Inc. has purchased a Michigan-based company that has an expertise in vented liners for containers.
The deal for M-Industries L.L.C. of Ada, Mich., is Tekni-Plex's 16th acquisition during the past five years, the company said, without disclosing further details.
"The partners at M-Industries recognized that, to achieve continued growth and development, we needed a strong, global, industry partner with similar values and strategy. We found that the team at Tekni-Plex shares our view of the market, people and values," M-Industries CEO Karlis Mateus said in a statement.
Wayne-based Tekni-Plex develops and manufactures packaging and medical products. M-Industries will operate as part of the company's Tri-Seal division that makes closure liners and seals.
"The addition of M-Industries increases the global scope of solutions we can provide to customers, including venting expertise and technical packaging, which has great applications in the demanding e-commerce/home delivery channels," Brian Jacobi, Tri-Seal vice president and general manager for the Americas, said in a statement.
M-Industries, Tekni-Plex said, "is one of only a few manufacturers worldwide that provide complex venting lining solutions for products that need air pressure regulation due to ingredients, filling methods and/or the way they are shipped and stored."
