Singer Industrial adds two more businesses to its roster

DALLAS—Singer Industrial, one of North America's largest distributors of rubber goods, is growing again by closing two more acquisitions on Oct. 31.

One deal brought Singer Viking Hose and Fittings, headquartered in Randleman, N.C., and the other brought Hotsy Equipment of Colorado and Wyoming, with its base in Greeley, Colo.

Dallas-based Singer Industrial didn't release terms of the acquisitions.

The purchases—the firm's fourth and fifth of 2023—bring Singer to more than 90 locations and over 1,300 employees.

Viking Hose will operate within the Catawba Rubber Division of Singer Industrial. Viking has been serving the North Carolina markets of Randleman, Winston, Salem and Greensboro since the prior owners—Garry Williams, Kelly Willien and William Johnson—opened the business.

The distributor focuses on the agriculture and general industrial markets, supplying them with industrial and hydraulic hoses and fittings, along with providing service and repair to customers.

"As a bolt-on to Catawba Rubber, Viking Hose and Fittings provides deeper penetration into a growing region of North Carolina and into new markets," Sam Petillo, president of Singer's Industrial Rubber Division, said in a statement.

Hotsy Equipment of CO/WY will be part of Singer Industrial's Watts Steam Store Division. It was established in 1986, is owned and operated by Michael Smith and has a location in Casper, Wyo., besides the Greeley headquarters.

The business is a regional leader in the sales and service of industrial pressure washing equipment, infrared heaters and waste oil heaters. Its main markets include agriculture, construction, municipality and general industrial supply.

Smith, who will continue to manage the operation, said he plans to expand with new locations and by expanding offerings to include core Singer Industrial products.

"We have been proud to serve Colorado and Wyoming for decades and are extremely confident that this transition will benefit both our customers and our employees," Smith said. "We will continue to deliver the same excellent sales and service to our customers while providing a stronger network and expanding our offerings."

Scott Wojciak, president of Singer's Fluid Power Division, said the Hotsy team has "built a great business from the simple philosophy of providing the best products and services to their customers—a philosophy that aligns directly with that of Singer Industrial."

Tracy Watts, Watts Steam Store general manager, added that Singer is "excited to have the Hotsy Equipment of CO/WY team join our group, and I look forward to working with them as we share best practices, service capabilities and growth plans."

Singer has a broad line of fluid power, hose and fittings, belt, seals and gaskets, compressors, pneumatic and automation products and services.

Its most recent acquisitions include TS Products Inc. of Dundas, Minn., in September, and American Hose & Hardware Inc. in Georgia at the end of August.
