CAMARILLO, Calif.—Sanisure, a manufacturer of single-use bioprocessing technology, will acquire Twinsburg, Ohio-based silicone extruder Medical Elastomer Development Inc. (MED) from Q Holding, a 3i portfolio company.

Sanisure said the acquisition furthers the company's commitment to becoming "a leading provider of critical fluid path management technologies for bioprocessing applications."

The deal also will increase Sanisure's security of supply and change control for its single use assembly solutions and transfer sets.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Following the acquisition, we will be able to offer our fully qualified, high-quality bulk tubing to end-users, other OEMs and our channel partner distributors," the company said in a Dec. 20 news release.

The addition of MED, which serves the medical and bioprocessing markets, furthers Sanisure's offering to customers working on "monoclonal antibody, vaccine and cell and gene therapy modalities with single-use technologies," according to Richard Relyea, a 3i partner.

Sanisure is a "vertically integrated" supplier of bio components with manufacturing and assembly operations in North America and Europe.

Among other products, the Camarillo-based company offers a range of silicone extrusion and other elastomeric systems, such as weldable and sealable thermoplastic elastomers and tubing.

"We continue to invest in critical technologies and capabilities that drive innovation and supply security for our global customer base," Sanisure CEO Steven Chevillotte said.

"State-of-the-art silicone extrusion capabilities are core to our portfolio of fluid management products and solutions and enable us to provide both high quality silicone tubing and vertically integrated bioprocessing single-use solutions to our customers," he added.
